A long time ago I heard of a sound studio in a truck . This was a mobile recording facility and a lot of good was said about it.

This fellow who invested quite a lot of money
in this adventure decided to move south.

California became his home base.

Notice that he is using two Mics next to the conductor for overall sound. But he must blend the Indirect sound to direct sound.
Microphones cannot discriminate like our ears.
So for each section of the orchestra you have one or 2 mics which are placed closer to the musicians.
